How To bake a chocolate cake
Today I will be teaching you how to make a chocolate cake,
but first you must know what a chocolate cake is made from.
What is a chocolate cake
To make a chocolate cake you need things like cocoa powder.
Cocoa powder is made from dried and ground cocoa solids, it also needs a thing called
baking powder. If you add this into a cake the result will be that the cake will rise.
You can also use self raising flour.
It is nearly impossible to make chocolate cake without these things.
Ingredients
To make a chocolate cake you need the following ingredients
1 3/4 Cups Plain White Flour, 225 gram, 1 3/4 Cups Sugar, 3/4 Cup Cocoa Powder, 67 grams, 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking Soda, 2 Eggs, 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence, 1/2 Cup Oil, 1 Cup Milk, and 1 Cup Boiling Water, 250 mls
Preheat the oven to 160C. Once you have done that, prepare a cake tin that is 25 x 25, spray well with cooking spray or line. Then put flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and mix well until completely combined.
Add eggs, vanilla, oil and milk to the mix and blend well. Finally add
the boiling water, then Pour into your prepared cake tin and bake in the oven for 35-45 minutes.
Icing
We will make a chocolate ganache icing to do this. All you need is 400 grams of Dark chocolate, and 250ml of cream. Put the cream in a bowl with boiling water under it, this is called a double boiler. Once the cream is
Hot add in the chocolate, and mix until it's all melted then put it in the fridge to thicken.
Putting together
To put together the cake you should cut the top of the cake to level it. Get the icing out the fridge, heat up a butter knife, and ice the cake.
(you can whip the ganache for a light and fluffy effect)

Conclusion
In conclusion a chocolate cake is an easy food to make and ganache is yum on its own.
This week we have been learning about different types of cultures. My group was Inuit Inuit is a very interesting culture. I had slide 01 about Traditional Clothing, this is what I wrote about it (In the Arctic, temperatures are below freezing for most of the year therefore, Inuits clothes are made from animal skin. Pants and mittens made from caribou or sealskin. One or two layers of pants and mittens depending on the temperature and up to four layers of footwear.
In my group I had Mailli, Nate, Makaia and Arihana.
