Haere Nga Ki Oruapaeroa

On Rapare 22 Here-Turi-Koka, tuakana from Ata Hapara
went via van to Travis wetlands.
We were met by Pete a C.C.C environmental educator.

I learnt about bugs; damselfly nymph,
water flea, back swimmer,water boatman,
flatworm and cyclops midge larvae.

We used a sieve  to catch them and I had to use a figure
8 technique to catch them and I caught 3
water boatman, 10 damselfly nymphs, and 2 back swimmers
then I learnt about what the wetlands mean.
Did you know the Wetlands is a bed and breakfast for the birds.
Birds eat and sleep it's a sponge because it absorbs water
it's a nest birds lay their eggs there. It's an airport birds land
there and eat and then take off again it's so because it can clean the
water is like a sieve

Then we went to see the birds and I saw two black swan three
fantails and a few ducks
Send we learnt about the food chains and the food chain starts
with how to get gift then pukeko
the Mosquito then a damselfly
and then a a kingfisher bird And then we left

Overall the Wetlands were pretty interesting.
